At the "Beauty" Crossroads

Hello, my Friends!

Again, one more discussion about beauty standards, but this time I want to share with you something very important and urgent for me...

The person who insinuated me was Valeria Lukyanova, I have previously made a post about her. I really think she is attractive, but I also feel that she is absolutely unnatural, It is not that kind of beauty I admired of earlier! And I feel that her beauty is not "right", so to say, its made of her overwhole image of a very spiritual person. She is a doll, and pin-up girls are real people, she is skinny, pin-up girls are stout, she is disptoportional, pin-up girls have natural proportions! And I`m struggling with myself, trying to understand whether her beauty is the beauty standard that I was looking for or whether she is just a "demon" that is tempting me now.

What do you think about her? Here are some photos of her I`ve found recently...Tell me what do you think:

Beauty Standards: What I Think About it

Hello, my Dear Friends!

It`s been a while since I`ve posted something here. But I think it`s a high time now to come back and discuss a lot of new things with you.

As you may guess, my blog is dedicated to my favourite pin-up style, but not only. I began to study all the percularities of this style trying to understand and discover another issue that worries me: the ideal of beauty. For a long time the beauty standard for me was pin-up style. And even now I admire all the pin-up models and clothes, make-up and so on. But the thing that catches me the most in this style is its feminine nature. I think that you agree with  me that nowadays, when you can hardly tell a boy from a girl, its a very important feature. But what is "femininity", what is "beauty"? Is it express in style or a make up?

I haven`t got answers on these questions. Because, from the one hand, a particular style can define some particular features, like red lips are assotiated with sexuality, blue eyes with innocence, blond hair with femininity. But is that all? I mean, that if you dress one girl in the sexies dress you find, bleach her hair, do the best make-up ever, she will look just awful; But, at the same time, you can dress a girl in a...sack, I don`t know, and she will look gorgeous! Where is that borderline that defines what is beautiful and what is not?

Have you got an answer? Write everything you think in the comments below. I really want to see what you think about it, and whether you defined what is beauty for you.

Have a nice day!

Perfect eyebrows: I want to have them!

Hello my dear readers!
I`m really glad to make another post here.
And today we are going to talk about the perfect shaping of your eyebrows :)
Let`s begin!

First of all, I should say that I myself have a really thin and even eyebrows that is really hard to shape. But I`m going to share with you some tricks to make even such straight eyebrows like mine a little bit arched.
So...

Step 1.
Firstly, you should measure the nessesary proportions of your eyebrows. It is very easy, be sure! Just take your pencil or the brush or anything and measure everything according to this picture:

1-your eyebrow should start at the line where your nostrils are. I mean, just take your brush, pencil or anything, put it straight to your nostrils and make a mark where your eyebrow should begin.
2-the arch of your eyebrow should be placed on the line from the nostrils and the iris of the eye.
3-the end of the eyebrow should be on the line from your nosdrils to the outer corner of your eye.
So, here we have a perfect proportion.

Step 2.
Now we should clean the area around the eyebrows. If you have a special eyebrow raiser, clean the area above and under your eyebrow. Plug loose hair.
And here is an interesting thing. You can plug your hair using a special tongs or using a thread. And if you want to learn more about this technique, you can watch this video down below:

Step 3.
Now comb your eyebrows (I use an old mascara brush). Comb them upwards to see how long are they. If they go further your natural shape , then you have to cut them.  Here are the pictures:

Step 4.
Now is the high time to fill in our eyebrows. The easiest thing here is to beging from the center of the eyebrows and then go right and left. It will decrease your chances to overshade your eyebrows. Use an eyepencil or eyebrowpencil or eyeshadows, but remember this colour should be several shades lighter than the eyebrow natural colour. If you use the eyepencil, try to fill it in with short strokes, it will make your eyebrows look quite natural.
Don`t forgen to stick to the proportions! Create an arch using the pencil!
If you`ve made a mistake, use your foundation or concealer to hide everything.

Step 5.
And you are done! Just dont forget to follow the nessessary proportion of your eyebrow and everything is going to be ok!
And if you want to fix the shape, use a special gel for the eyebrows, or even a wax.

P.S. If you want to create an absolutely new shape of the eyebrow, then...Of course I know it is too extreme, but you can shave your eyebrow and draw a new one. But it is too risky.
But here is one good video:

And that`s it! Have a nice day!

Tattoos with pin-up girls: Oh my God, it`s hot!

Hello everyone! At last I`m here and ready to show you some more things about pin-up! Today I want to show you some tattoos with pin-up girls and tell something about them! Let`s begin!

1) Classical pin-up girls:
With the revival of the popularity and preference of the pinup girl as a tattoo design, many of the old designs are making a comeback in a big way. Many people seem to have a liking for the look of women in retro looking clothes and have gone for these tattoo designs.

Of course when it comes to detailed tattoos you have to consider the cost factor. There is no doubt that a classy looking pinup girl tattoo is going to cost you quite a bit. If your budget is tight then you can go in for a variety and go for that. This is a more cost effective alternative. But if you want your tattoo to stand out in terms of the look, detail work and colors then you have to be prepared for the cost and time to be spent on it.

2) Modern pin-up girls:
Now you can also find tattoos with pin-up girls that are a little bit modified: they are tend to be less detailed (like a cartoon character) or combined:

The most popular areas for such tattoos are: arms and legs, stomach.

As you can see tattooing the pin-up girls is a trend now, and it`s not a big surprise: it`s cool, beautiful and attractive.

Hope you liked this post! Have a nice evening!

I think that I`m fat: remember a real pin-up girl!

Hello everyone! Today I want to talk with you about the worst fear of almost every girl: about the thought that you are fat. That is a disaster of our generation and I think that there are several causes of it, so, let`s tlk about it.

1) Glamorous magazines dictate beauty standards
Yes, that is true. We reag a lot of magazines and see here a lot of beautiful young women that are almost the same in their appearrance and it means that the type of very thin ang high woman is the standard now. But it`s bad, because any girl is unique, and not all of us are high enough, or our bone structure is different.

2) Being extremely thin is against our nature
I shoul told you one secret: any woman, by her nature, was created for giving birth to children. That is why our body is programmed to keep fat for keeping enegry. That is why to be extremely thin is against our nature. Very thin girls even can`t get pregnant because of the lack of fat.

3) Marilyn Monroe wasn`t thin at all!

the sex-symbol uf the 20 century wasn`t thin at all! But she was incredibly beautiful and she looked like a woman! Because sometimes when I look on modern models, I think that they are not real women, they are just skin and bones. And that is ugly.

4) We don`t want to love our appearance because we are scared that nobody will love us the way we are created

That is true. Just think, why do we wand to be thin, to be like a real model? Because we think that being a model will help us to be loved. That is why we are trying to be as beautiful for other people as possible. But didn`t you think that before everyone will recognize your beauty, you shoul recognize it inside you by yourself? If you would accept your appearance, everyone around you would see it too!

5) We are hooked on our drawbacks
Yes, we always think bad about ourself and notice only drawbacks. But it`s wrong! Every girl has something beautiful in her appearance! Let me tell you one personal example. Frankly speaking, I don`t like my appearance as well as many other girls. But the most annoying thing that`s making me crazy is my nose. I have really big crooked nose because I have broken it twice during my childhood. I really shy because of that, and I really hate it. But I always try to calm myself down, saying that despite my nose is crooked, I have quite pretty eyes. And it helps me to think that I`m not extremely ugly.  That is why just try to find something attractive in your appearance!

6) A lot of girls who think that they are far are not fat at all!
That is true. Some girls continue to torture themselves with diets and exercises thinking that they are fat, but they don`t! And that happens because of the lack of self-assuarance. Just try to be in a normal condition, not too thin and not too fat (just because it creates a lot of health issues)

7) And just remember- a real pin-up gir wasn`t thin at all! She  was a real women! ;)

Hope you liked this post! Don`t forget to comment!
Have a nice day!

Retro tattoos: Old-school style

Hello everyone! Today I want to talk with you about retro tattoo slyle. It is very interesting to see how this retro old-school style was created and  what were the main features of retro tattoos. So, let`s begin!

"Traditional", or "Old-school" style is a traditionally american tattoo-style. It was created in the post-war period and was extremely popular. The main thing was to have such tattoo, and its creativity wasn`t a big deal. That is why some motives and elements are quite simmilar.

The main feature of this style was the usage of very thick black outlines and red, green colours. A little bit of blue, yellow and lilac colours were also used.

The second thing to mention is that such tattoos were more like an illustration (they tended to be like a cartoon picture) with no shadows or volume. Why? It helped make the process of creating of the tattoo much quicker, just because sailors hadn`t got enough time to stay in one place.

The founder of this style was Sailor Jerry (Norman Collins was his name) who opened his tattoo-shop and began to spread this style around the country.

So, the founder was a sailor, and there was even a tradition for sailors to make a new tattoo in every new place they visited.

Sailor Jerry became a real symbol of that period of history, he has made thousands of tattoos. The main feature of his style was the combination of bright polychromic colours like in japanese tattoo-tradition(he was influenced by it) and quite rough line style.

The most popular images were, of course, mermaids, sharps, roses, anchors, swallows, daggers. But the main elements of the tattoo were roses, hearts with ribbons and rolls.
Pin-up tattoos were also popular, with the images og different girls, cherries, Harley Davidson`s  bikes etc.
