Plus-Size Pin-Up Models: It`s hot!
Hello my Dears!
Now I wanted to share with you some photos of different plus-size pin-up models that I`ve found recently. Making this post I want to show that the beauty can be different, and even such plus-size models can look sexier than any "ordinary" model. I think that plus-size models are very brave and I respect them for the fact that they ignore the typical fashion standards. They prove that any woman can look gorgeous just being sure that she is gorgeous. Just look at them:
Don`t you think they are gorgeous? Write in the comments below!
Have a nice day!
Beauty Standards: What I Think About it
Hello, my Dear Friends!
As you may guess, my blog is dedicated to my favourite pin-up style, but not only. I began to study all the percularities of this style trying to understand and discover another issue that worries me: the ideal of beauty. For a long time the beauty standard for me was pin-up style. And even now I admire all the pin-up models and clothes, make-up and so on. But the thing that catches me the most in this style is its feminine nature. I think that you agree with me that nowadays, when you can hardly tell a boy from a girl, its a very important feature. But what is "femininity", what is "beauty"? Is it express in style or a make up?
I haven`t got answers on these questions. Because, from the one hand, a particular style can define some particular features, like red lips are assotiated with sexuality, blue eyes with innocence, blond hair with femininity. But is that all? I mean, that if you dress one girl in the sexies dress you find, bleach her hair, do the best make-up ever, she will look just awful; But, at the same time, you can dress a girl in a...sack, I don`t know, and she will look gorgeous! Where is that borderline that defines what is beautiful and what is not?
Have you got an answer? Write everything you think in the comments below. I really want to see what you think about it, and whether you defined what is beauty for you.
Have a nice day!

Modern pin-up models: What has changed?
Hello everyone!today I wanted to show you some pictures of modern-pin up girls and do discuss what has changed since 50-60`s. It is really interesting to know how the retro style has developed and how is it interpreted nowadays!
Let`s Begin!
First of all, the most interesting feature of modern pin-up models is that they are all tattooed. They have sleeves, the whole back and legs tattooed, and it is quite surprising how different tattoes can be combined with the classic pin-up style. It looks different, but facinating.
The next point is the pircing. Pin-up girls now have a lot of piercings, septums, madonna`s and monroe`s, and sometimes it looks great.
Then the hair. Now a lot of girls dye and bleach them and use the most incredilbe colours. Red is the most popular among them, but you can also see pink, lilac, blue etc. A few models use thir natural haircolour.
Makeup became much brighter and heavier. Fake eyelashes are videly spread.
Dresses are different too. A lot of girls wear corsets, they are extremely popular. And really high highheels.
Summing up, we can say that the modern pin-up girl is more radical, I mean that her look became much more grotesque and more sexy. What do you think?

Retro-swimsuits: Hello, summer!
Hello everyone! Today I wanted to talk to you about retro swimsuits! It`s summer, it`s hot, and we want to swim! :)
Hope you`ll like this information about the history of retro-swimsuits!
Let``s begin!
And, by the way, I`ve passed my first exam on A+ :)
So:
In the very beginning of the century so called “bathing clothes” were just that – clothes! Swimming dresses were made of lighter fabric than traditional dresses, but they still had full skirts, and even stockings! Definitely not the most fashionable pieces, and not for swimming!
Portland Knitting Company was founded by Carl Jantzen, Roy Zehntbauer, and John Zehntbauer in 1910. They began offering “swimsuits” to their regular customers. A big selling point for these early suits, of course, was that you could actually swim. “Jantzens” became highly popular thanks to the fit. The company officially changed its name to Jantzen Knitting Mills in 1918.
Swimwear in the 1920s had a look similar to that of a mini-dress, often referred to as a maillot. Bathing caps made from latex rubber completed the look!
By the 1930s, designers were looking for ways to improve the maillot. Elsa Schiaparelli added swimsuits to her collection in 1928, but brought them a step further when she introduced the backless maillot. The suit also featured a patented, invisible bra to enhance a woman’s shape. These improvements in style and function helped cultivate the early glamour of bathing beauties.
1940s swimsuits came in both one-piece and two-piece varieties. Featuring flattering sweetheart and square necklines up top paired with high-waisted shorts below, these suits were perfect for fun in the sun! Suits of this era also featured strategic cut-outs, as manufacturers had limited resources during wartime.
Glamour swimwear really took off in the 1950s and 60s. Suits were modeled by the pin-up girls. ’50s styles featured ruffles, rhinestones, lace, and other ladylike touches. In an interview with Collectors Weekly, vintage swimwear collector Pam Fierro said, “Vintage swimsuits, especially ones from the ’50s, are very corset-like. They’re made with boning and zippers and elastic to help accentuate your assets.”
Hope you`ll like this information about the history of retro-swimsuits!

I don`t want to go further, just because that is the period that I`m specialized it :) That is why that`s it! Hope you liked this historical review on the style and the development of the swimsuit!
Have fun :)
P.S. Just imagine, how difficult it was to have a wool-swimsuit...scratchy, at least :(

Retro nails in Dita von Teese style? Huh, that`s easy!
Hello everyone! Today I want to show you a tip on how to make an easy retro nails! The general idea of such style is to leave "the half moon" on the nail unpolished. Some choose to paint the lunula (the half moon) white, and we can see it on Dita von Teese:
But frankly speaking, I`m a huge fan of leaving "the half moon" area unpolished, as for me, it looks better. And It is the style that I`m going to show you now.
I will show you a very easy way on how to do that, because It can be quite hard to "paint" this style. This trick will make the process faster and without any mess.
All you will need: nail polisher (I used Colorama by Maybelline, colour 150) and a TAPE. That is the key ingredient to our look.
Step 1
Cut a piece of tape into a rounded shape:
Stich it to your finger. Place as much of the rounded part as you want on the half moon area of the nail. Of cource it mainly depends on the natural size of the lunula. If its big enough, you can use it as a reference point. If its not big, make the size you want))
Repeat this step on every nail.
Then apply a nail polisher. You can do a base, of cource, and then do the actual colour.
Make sure that the tape is placed well on every nail and not sticking up anywhere.
It doesn`t matter if you do a mess, everything will remain on the tape.
If you need, cover the nails one more time.
When the polish is almost dry, you can start pulling the tape off. Be attentive here: pull the tape straight down towards your hand- not over your nail. Pulling it over might tear more of the nailpolish off, and it is not what we want.
If some areas look messy, dont be upset, just take your rounded craft brush, take a nailpolish remover and try to fix everything! You can use it to remove the polisher on the sides of your nail as well.
And here is the result! Nice and neat! And also quite fast.
Hope you liked it!
Good luck!

Pin-up look of the week
Hello, my dear readers!
Today I want to present you the look of the week! Hope you will like it!
Dress
Today I decidet to find something very elegant, a dress, that you can wear to a really important occasions. It is something to wear on your way to the expencive restaurant.
Here is the link on ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Hearts-and-Roses-London-Vintage-50s-Pinup-Pencil-Office-Work-Career-Dress-/370815179452?pt=UK_Women_s_Dresses&var=&hash=item56564e9abc
I think this dress is extremely beautiful. It highlights the body shape and will perfectly suit to anyone who has a small brest size, because such cut of the decollete visually makes your brest bigger.
It goes in several colour patterns.
Necklace
I think that such dress needs a necklace, otherwise it looks empty:
Looks great! And not that heavy. What do you think?
Shoes
I think that such classic dress needs a really classical shoes:
Their shape is great. And it will suit perfectly to anyone, who has a narrow leg.
And the heel is not that high, and I think it is quite comfortable
Bag-clutch
It is better to have a small bag to such kind of dresses, that is why I offer you this:
Its shape matches perfectly to the style of the dress, as well as a golden element.
And here is a final result!
Hope you like it! Have a nice weekend!

Retro hairstyle: Part 1
Hello, everyone! Finally, I decided to write something about the hairstyle of that period. Let`s begin!
The main thing is that women used to have wavy and curly hair. It was even impolite to be in public when you have straight hait. That is why a lot of types of hair rollers existed. But the types of the hairstyle in 20, 30 were different.
For 20-th it was more typical to have small curls and short hair. The style of the "finger waves" was extremely popular:

I think it was clear how such type of the hairstyle was made: you just applied some gel on your wet hair, and using the bobbypins you just "held" the waves until they were dry. The man thing there was to pin everything right, in order it to stay longer. And here is a video on how to create it:
In the late 20-th, the beginning of the 30-th there was an another trand. A lot of popular hairstyles were created: victory roll, faux bangs, just curly hair, a lot of other things.

We know this hairstyle, and it seems to be rather complicated, but, frankly speaking, the only thing you need is patience. The firs thing to do is decide, what size of the victory roll do you want to have, If you have quite a small forehead, dont be afraid and make big rolls. If your forehead is big, then make small rolls. Firstly, you should curl your hair, it will make your work much easier. Then devide your hair into several parts to work with. And then tale one part of your hair and gently comb your hair in order to combine all the curls. Then teese the roots of your hair (if you want to make a big roll), it will keep the volume and the shape. Take your hair and begin to curl them into the roll. Watch its size. Hold it with the bobbypin. Fix it with the hairspray and you are done! Here you can see the video where everything is shown in details:
Faux bang:
Very famous hairstyle. Here is a tutorial:
Lets remember the style of the "Old hollywood"!
That is my favourite hairstyle, frankly speaking. Big curls, long hair! The style is rather simple. The main thing here - is just to make proper curls. You should make this hairstyle on a little bit dirty hair (don`t wash your hair about a day). Then cucr it using a curl iron. Make sure that your curls are not hot anymore, spray it and try to comb it with your fingers. And only then use your big comb! Try to comb it from your roots to your ends. It is very easy! You can see it here:

And that is all! Wait for the part 2!
Good luck!
