Modern pin-up models: What has changed?

Hello everyone!today I wanted to show you some pictures of modern-pin up girls and do discuss what has changed since 50-60`s. It is really interesting to know how the retro style has developed and how is it interpreted nowadays!
Let`s Begin!

 

First of all, the most interesting feature of modern pin-up models is that they are all tattooed. They have sleeves, the whole back and legs tattooed, and it is quite surprising how different tattoes can be combined with the classic pin-up style. It looks different, but facinating.

 

 

The next point is the pircing. Pin-up girls now have a lot of piercings, septums, madonna`s and monroe`s, and sometimes it looks great.

Then the hair. Now a lot of girls dye and bleach them and use the most incredilbe colours. Red is the most popular among them, but you can also see pink, lilac, blue etc. A few models use  thir natural haircolour.

 

 

 

Makeup became much brighter and heavier. Fake eyelashes are videly spread.

Dresses are different too. A lot of girls wear corsets, they are extremely popular. And really high highheels.

Summing up, we can say that the modern pin-up girl is more radical, I mean that her look became much more grotesque and more sexy. What do you think?

Want to have a perfect skin like a pin-up model has? Firstly, get rid of the blackheads!

Hello dear people! Today I want to discuss with you a very urgent topic, so urgent for anybody, that there is even no heed to explain. Blackheads. What do you think about them? I just really hate them, just because sometimes they can inflame! 

And besides, do you remember the skin of the pin-up model? It`s flawless. And we want the same. That is why today I`m going to discuss some important issues with you on how to get rid of the blackheads and how to get a perfect skin like this:

The main thing here is your patience! Lets begin!

1) If you think that the main cause why they are black is dirt, you are wrong. It is an oxydasation that is happening. That is why DO NOT scrub your face. It is useles if you want to remove blackheads. Why? Because it touches only the surface of your skin, but the blackheads are much deeper!

2) and you also do not need to disinfect the skin with blackheads! Because bacteria are not the issue here - instead focus on exfoliating the skin and more importantly the pore.

That is why, in order to get rid of the blackheads, you should use something that will go inside the pores and clean everything out. 

First of all, use something containing Beta hydroxy acid (BHA) (or sometimes it is called salicylic acid) , it will help to push the plug out. 

There are a lot of products containing this acid, just look for it.

But (!) there is a problem with such type of products and that is that they are pH dependent: it meant that if the pH level gets too high, they basically stop working at all. That is why you need to know such products, that are not pH dependent (they exist)

Here is a list of BHA products that have the correct pH level to actively work on the problem.

For people with very sensitive skin it would be better to use products from Clinique that contain 0.5% BHA at a pH of 4.5 (ish) ... These will be gentler on the skin than the other options which have lower pH levels and higher 1-2% BHA.

Use a gentle cleanser that doesn't strip the skin and UNLESS you have dry or combination skin you don't need to moisturise. And here are the possible products:

Neutrogena - oil-free acne stress control hydrating acne treatment

BUT all skins require sunscreen and these are normally moisturising enough.

But there is another matter, it is called Retin-a. It  is a product you should look into as it can regulate how the skin produces new skin cells - making them healthier, smoother and less likely to breakout.

Not everyone can tolerate Retin-a (it has a lot of side effects!!) but it's worth trying.

All skins require sunscreen especially when using BHA and/or Retin-a.

Retro nails in Dita von Teese style? Huh, that`s easy!

Hello everyone! Today I want to show you a tip on how to make an easy retro nails! The general idea of such style is to leave "the half moon" on the nail unpolished. Some choose to paint the lunula (the half moon) white, and we can see it on Dita von Teese:

But frankly speaking, I`m a huge fan of leaving "the half moon" area unpolished, as for me, it looks better. And It is the style that I`m going to show you now.
I will show you a very easy way on how to do that, because It can be quite hard to "paint" this style. This trick will make the process faster and without any mess. 

All you will need: nail polisher (I used Colorama by Maybelline, colour 150) and a TAPE. That is the key ingredient to our look. 

Step 1
Cut a piece of tape into a rounded shape:

Stich it to your finger. Place as much of the rounded part as you want on the half moon area of the nail. Of cource it mainly depends on the natural size of the lunula. If its big enough, you can use it as a reference point. If its not big, make the size you want))

Repeat this step on every nail. 
Then apply a nail polisher. You can do a base, of cource, and then do the actual colour. 
Make sure that the tape is placed well on every nail and not sticking up anywhere.
It doesn`t matter if you do a mess, everything will remain on the tape. 
If you need, cover the nails one more time.

When the polish is almost dry, you can start pulling the tape off. Be attentive here: pull the tape straight down towards your hand- not over your nail. Pulling it over might tear more of the nailpolish off, and it is not what we want.

If some areas look messy, dont be upset, just take your rounded craft brush, take a nailpolish remover and try to fix everything!You can use it to remove the polisher on the sides of your nail as well.
And here is the result! Nice and neat! And also quite fast.

How to make a shiny face like a pin-up girl has? Here is the tip!

Hello everyone! Today I`m going to show you the secret on how to create a really healthy, shiny look like a pin-up girl has.  

As you can see, her skin is glowing, and to get such a result, you will need just 3 foundations of different colours: the same colour as your skin, one that is much lighter, one that is much darker. And now, here is the secret:

Firstly, you should apply the lighter foundation on the zone under your eyes, a little bit higher on your cheekbones, on your chin and a litthe bit highter your jaw line + don`t forget about the area near your nostrils Here is the scheme:

Then, apply the darker foundation on the area of your cheekbone (you can also add here a bit blush), on your  tempels, on the jaw line, a little bit on the forehead and jy your nose. Looks ugly, I know. But now we will change everything! Just take the foundation that matches your natural skin colour, take a big brush (kabuki, for example) and put some foundation on the brush. Then begin to blend everything together. Just blend, mixing 3 tones together. But don`t be to harsh and strong: you want to save the contours that you`ve created. Here is the result:

Now your face is glowing! It`s healthy and shiny, and that is the result that we were going to achieve. Your face should have an additional dimention, and this type of contouring and highlighting is absolutely perfect for such purposes.

Wrong shape of the nose? Pin-up girls know the secret how to change it!

Hello everyone! Today I want to share with you some secrets about the nose make-up! Why is it important? Just remember a classic pin up girl! She has a really small nose, and it looks beautiful!
And today I show you some tips on how to make your nose look smaller. Let`s begin!

1) Flat nose

It is widely spread among asian people. It is not a drawback, it is just a feature that defines this population. But there is a problem with such type of the nose: It is not well-defined. That is why we should give it a proper definition. There are several ways how to do that, but the main principle is to take the brush, take some dark-brown eyeshadows, and to apply 2 straight lines down your nose. I mean here:


They should go just from the eyebrow. You can apply it really harsh at the beginning, but then you should smoothe the line. You can also highlight the center line of your nose. It should give you an additional definition. And here you can find a video on this technique:



2)Triangular nose



As you can see, the tip of the nose and the nostrils form a triangle. That is why we should apply some dark shadows on the tip of the nose and blend it out. Then you should take some lighter shadow and you should apply it on the inside corner (where the bridge of the nose) of the eye and blend it out. So, you create more space on the top of the nose and reduce the lover part of the nose.



3) Crooked nose



As you can see, the nose is not straight. And here is one golden rule: On the side that is not straight you should apply some dark eyeshadows (try to draw a straight line, you don-t want to highlight that one side of the nose is curved) and some light on the other. Here is what I meam:



4) Bulbous nose


Here we can see that the tip of the nose is very massive. And we should just take our dark eyeshadows and apply it on the tip of the nose. And sometimes you need to apply dark eyeshadows just above the eyebrow. It will give a bigger dimention. And then apply a highlighter on the center line of the nose.



5) Strong bridge nose
It is better seen in the profile:



Here the only advice just to highlight the area between your eyebrows to open up space a bit. It will help you a lot.
